Diagnostic Revision

Now that I have returned your Diagnostic essays, it is time to revise them!  Using the techniques we've studied in class, I want you to re-write your Diagnostic essays.  Please make note of the following:

- Choose which side you support (as you did with your original draft) and argue 3 main points to support your opinion.
- Use the techniques we studied during the first three weeks of class.  This includes brainstorming, outlining, thesis statements, introductions, conclusions, and paragraph structuring.
- The essay must be between 1 to 3 pages long, typed with Times New Roman font, 12 pt., double spaced, with 1-inch margins on all sides.  (If you have trouble setting these criteria, let me know.  I can tell you how to set them)
- The article must be used at least once in the essay as a source to quote from or refer to.  Do not use outside sources to support your opinion.
- Though we haven't explicitly covered it yet, try to avoid plagiarism.  Later in the semester, we will talk more in detail about how to avoid it, but for now, try to only use the article itself and your own thoughts.  DON'T STEAL OTHERS' MATERIALS!

The due date for the first draft of your revision is Tuesday, September 18th.  Please print them and bring them to class.  If you don't have access to a printer, please let me know.  I can print them and bring them.

Thank you to Mingu for reminding me about this.  Here is the link to the original article.  Use this for your revision.
