Assignment: Source-Synthesis Summary

Grade: 15% of your final grade

First draft due: October 29th, before midnight. 

The Source-Synthesis Summary is a combination summary of three articles.  During each class, I will introduce one article to the class, and you will be expected to write an individual one-paragraph summary of that article.  This short summary is due during the next class.  After all three articles have been introduced, you are expected to write a large summary.

Individual summaries should be 1 paragraph. Final Source-synthesis Summaries should be 2-3 pages, with a title, Times New Roman, Size 12, double-spaced, with 1-inch margins on all sides. (Paper size: 8 1/2 x 11-inches)

The final Source-synthesis Summary should be accompanied by a Synthesis Chart that works as an outline/prewriting guide.

Each summary should directly references its sources and have a references list on a separate page. The final Source-synthesis Summary should include all three sources both in-text and on a references list. 

Be sure to avoid plagiarism!  Use all the techniques we've studied to help you.  

When you have completed the final summary, please name it as follows:
